Energy Companies Obligation (ECO)

ECO is a legal obligation to make homes more energy efficent that is placed on the part of the ‘big six’ energy companies – British Gas, E.ON, EDF, Npower, SSE and Scottish Power.

The companies have an obligation to help people reduce their carbon footprints through the installation of measures such as home insulation. They will be fined if they fail to achieve these obligations, so it is in their best interests to offer you the best possible deals on energy efficient measures.

Domestic and General can install a range of measures as part of ECO, with funding falling into three categories:
