Can DGI insulate properties that have narrow cavities?

Properties with narrow cavities are now eligible for *free cavity wall insulation under the CERO funding scheme. Domestic & General are able to access grant funding for people living in such properties and install the insulation, which will help keep your home warmer in addition to reducing your energy bills.

A property is deemed to have narrow cavities if the gap between the inner and outer walls is between 40 and 49mm. This can only be determined reliably by having a surveyor come out to the property to examine it, which is why Domestic & General also offer free surveys to anybody who is interested in having cavity wall insulation installed.

Traditionally such properties have been both difficult and expensive to insulate. However the government have earmarked insulating such properties as an imperative aim of the CERO scheme, meaning that grant funding is available for all who qualify.

Furthermore, in many cases a property that qualifies for funding due to having a narrow cavity will also qualify for *free loft insulation. However, this must be done in conjunction with a cavity wall installation and can only be claimed if the loft has never been insulated before.

As accredited installers, Domestic & General are able to insulate narrow cavities in addition to providing a free survey to determine if your property is eligible in the first instance. Simply call us free on 0800 138 7207 or use the button below to send us an enquiry.
